Senator Barack Obama in Charleston and San Diego

Leah and I volunteered for Senator Barack Obama on Friday, as he visited Charleston, South Carolina, and held a town hall meeting. It's been a sad week for Leah and me, but our volunteer work on Friday cheered us up a bit, as the excitement surrounding the event was palpable and genuine. Everyone we worked with was extraordinarily nice and excited to help the Senator in his bid for the Presidency. Upbeat and hopeful was the norm, and the turnout was huge.

Hopefully we'll get to help again as the South Carolina primary gets a little closer. Here's one of my grainy photos from the event, which was held at Burke High School in downtown Charleston.

And if you'd like to get a sense of the excitement, watch this video of Obama's speech in California, which occurred the next day.
