Cake's upcoming compilation, B-Sides and Rarities, is a cornucopia of delight. With covers galore, the album is empirically fun and, on occasion, slightly odd. The Manha Mahna song, made famous by The Muppets, is the third track on the record, and it makes me smile every time. And the other covers don't disappoint, throwing fresh paint on old classics - it's hard to beat the sad and funny Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town.
