My favorite song of last year was Girl in the War by Josh Ritter, and his album, The Animal Years, easily made my Best of 2006 list. So it's no surprise that I'm looking forward to The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter, which releases tomorrow. I have high expectations, and the bold album title piques my interest even further. Once I give it a week or two to settle in, I'll let you know what I think.
Another album that made my 2006 best-of list was Neko Case's Fox Confessor Brings the Flood. Neko doesn't have a solo release tomorrow, but The New Pornographers do, and I'm looking forward to what Neko and company have to offer with their new album, Challengers.
