New York Magazine - Manny Howard battles a tornado, a table saw and a fed-up wife in his quest to live for a month off his 800 square foot Brooklyn "farm."
With a writing style similar to A.J. Jacobs, Howard's cover story is humorous, informative and (at times) grisly - who knew stressed rabbits and cannibals were the same thing? I sure as hell didn't, but thanks to Howard, now I do.
Bloxorz - If you like playing Tetris, give this game a try.
The Village Voice - Andy Beta (cool name) reviews Animal Collective's new record.

All along, to an extent I didn’t realize until later, Lisa had been trying to keep her simmering resentments about The Farm under wraps. She hated the mess, was embarrassed by the growing pile of refuse in our driveway and disgusted by the stink of manure coming from the barn. The fact that I wore dirty work clothes all the time and that I never left the property except to run errands for The Farm didn’t help things either. Then there was the ring of filth I left in our tub after I took a bath at night. Lisa hadn’t signed up to be a farmer’s wife. She has a demanding career in midtown and, in fact, had just earned a big promotion when I started farming in earnest. She needed our home to be a sanctuary, not the abattoir I’d turned it into. A career and two children were hard enough; what did she need with a husband playing with dirt and shit all day?OneGoodMove - Author George Saunders makes an appearance on Letterman.

To call Strawberry Jam the Collective's poppiest album is a misnomer: Just because there's an onslaught of verbiage and weird noises (like most pop these days) does not a pop album make. It is their most oxymoronic, though. Recorded entirely on analog tape out in the desert, the songs are weirdly digital, squiggly, and processed.Aquarium Drunkard - Bonnie "Prince" Billy - 'nuff said.
