Saturday Roundup with Google Trends

Largehearted Boy linked to a great Washington Times article this week about MP3 Blogs. Scrolling Stone, by Scott Galupo, plugs Music For Robots, Said the Gramophone, Fluxblog, Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, and Largehearted Boy and discusses how MP3 blogs often create buzz about up-and-coming artists before larger, slower media outlets have a chance.

On this note, I played around with Google Trends to see how people search for their music online.

Music beats out MP3, which destroys the plural MP3s. [MP3, MP3s, Music]

Music Blog and MP3 Blog are pretty much tied and have steadily grown since early 2004. [Music Blog, MP3 Blog]

Of blog, blogs, blogging and blogosphere, the simple blog comes out on top. [blog, blogging, blogs, blogosphere]

Of MP3, bittorent, torrent, ogg and flac, the king is MP3 and Torrent comes in second place. [mp3, bittorrent, torrent, ogg, flac]

If you compare some of the big music magazines, Rolling Stone wins. I used the word magazine in my search because spin and paste have alternate meanings. [rolling stone magazine, spin magazine, paste magazine]

And, most importantly, Autobot crushes Decepticon. [autobot, decepticon]
