With circling refrains and Willie Nelson’s patented simplicity, the album tells a story about love, loss and revenge. With his sister on piano, Willie plucks his guitar and sings about cheating wives, horses, smoky taverns and western ways.
At age 73, Willie Nelson is still touring and playing songs from the album, including Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain and the instrumental Down Yonder. My wife, mom, aunt and I had the opportunity to see Willie in concert last month, and he still puts on a great show. If he comes to your town, I recommend you pull on your cowboy boots and go listen to a living legend.
