With so many MP3s and CDs to listen to, sometimes I forget about all the good streamable music available online. Yesterday, a friend reminded me about Morning Becomes Eclectic, so I checked it out last night, and - to my great pleasure - there's a 30-minute Brandi Carlile set available on the site that really shows off this 23-year-old's musical chops. She plays many of her own songs and performs great covers of Willie Nelson's Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain and Ray LaMontagne's Burn. For those of you who like Neko Case, give Brandi Carlile a try - her studio album is alt-country-pop and her live material is stripped down, sincere and beautiful.
